I moved my art to a different blog and right now my interests are with card making and learning the various things you can do with paper. I still am playing with fabric but not as much. I did spend a day learning how to marbelize fabric and have a month long show in Panama City that are featuring some of my pieces.<br />

Both sites had Birthday Challenges. BTW I love the videos that Pink Stamper does...since I am new to card making they have been very helpful. <span style="color:#cc33cc;"><strong>The Pink Stamper Challenge was already closed...I guess I didn't read very carefully.<br /><br /></strong></span><br />The Pink Stamper Challenge was Birthday. The Cooking with Cricut was a Birthday Card using their design plan and also using Peachy Keen Stamps if you had them. I checked out those stamps and they are darling but I don't have any because I don't have any cartridges that would use them. As soon as I get the Paperdoll card or the Once Upon a Princess those stamps would be "a for sure" item to have.<br /><br /><br />Here is my card...<img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 290px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5567760790177714114" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEics8J-Al4TMj-pNIBQYp4gkh0skHbROEaRSUON3qjICxrVqfJFJApLdjZA3EHberYNESv-Mg3bDcdsXv83stPYzv6Oesg8B2ZI25D7ks1a9VGPT7xMEVvpRNy4v5_ycI_LxjXyYQ/s400/cardmary+copy.jpg" /><br />I used pop up pads on the Happy Birthday Greeting and on the smaller flower. I really liked having a Design to follow, as a newbie sometimes I find I get too involved with my design and <strong><em>Simple</em></strong> is really better. This card will be going to my friend Mary. I have also order some stamps with Greetings on them so my cards will look a little more polished.<br /><br />Again, I can't thank all of you who take the time to make tutorials and videos for those of us just learning. I love them and really appreciate all the hard work.Ann Morrellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07240901842891098790noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19419979.post-64491483704165884752011-01-24T20:38:00.006-06:002011-01-26T13:07:28.215-06:00The # THREEAnother Challenge from Cooking with Cricut...this time we had to include three flowers made with a Cricut Cartridge...I really thought I might have to pass on this one, because I have limited cards, but looking closer as my collection of two, I found a flower on my George Card. I was unable to accept the second part of the challenge to use the sketch plan that they suggested. I didn't have any stamps that I could use for adding words small enough on the card. I have put those greeting stamps on my list of things I want. I have been spending too much time watching videos on card making and also have added ribbons to my list...it seems there are lots of ribbons added to cards and it really makes the cards pop.<br /><br />My card is done on black card stock that has been run through my Cuttlebug using an embossing folder. The orange background was embossed also. My pot that holds my flowers is a from a sample that I made at an acrylics workshop. The flowers are from the George Card. I used a popup button on each flower. I used a strip of paper in place of a ribbon. I think I will use this card as a Thank You Card. after glueing and layering all the papers and cardstick these cards can get a little heavy<br /><br /><br />Here is a picture:<br /><br /><p><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 286px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5566572559452658978" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjC8-6UmG3ZyEL1VINcfedAJopHbcewKg45v7E8RVXC75kD6ZC3g1Qtc_Po4jSViOaWyKVYPj65riNHuOcCFej6Y2bao0hQvIcMFtUoj88pkwmus8I_c5kF-THwFN4TzDJwTPErCQ/s400/kkkk.jpg" />I really enjoying visiting all of the blogs and checking out everyone's work...I am making up a list of "must haves"...this hobby can get expensive can't it?</p><p>Ann<br /><br /></p>Ann Morrellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07240901842891098790noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19419979.post-64166409437881930232011-01-15T20:19:00.011-06:002011-01-16T12:14:17.438-06:00Gliitermania Challenge # 2Another Challenge. I am so glad I found <a href="http://cookingwithcricut.blogspot.com/">http://cookingwithcricut.blogspot.com/</a> because their weekly challenges are making me experiment with my Cricut and my cuttlebug. I enjoy visiting the Chefs webpages and also seeing what others are doing with the challenges. <div><br /><div>This week challenge was Glittermania. I love shiny things and especially glitter!!</div><br /><div>This week I made my own cut file...I took a piece of public domain clipart and using my SCAL2 software broke it down so that the cricut could cut it out in different colors. This week I used a cute little owl as my focus subject. There were cut feathers on his chest in the clipart but I haven't managed to figure that out in the software so I changed the clipart and removed the feathers.</div><br /><div></div><div>I hope my images show my glittermania work.<br /></div><br /><p align="center"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 179px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 248px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5562614202144157042" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOhlvUc3J5GUsQkPmAtKDN81Rb-TIdXaUjmF1ki_xS_zATonyXeqlfje2gexNaGeP7VGLeXgHZI2-kfGQQQlvNRqnRaM3L3ZDnyxRLiwp_Ja2-QwYxX7m9fsMaD_1KzgwgqZYgEA/s400/owl3.jpg" />This close up shows my branch and my glittered letters.</p><p align="center">and my finished card</p><p align="center"><br /></p><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 325px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5562616135984402306" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEil1mGApG_4EdMa8QPlZUOCE96pq6EFcVErLLkvkU8uikzXZH81YYOnhjcKDYPB_VpN2sHaZpElyX71ziYhyphenhyphenuMvHZavepZYF628oB-yks94jl6jCVuhm-uEM4NTeq-pP5WYSEjEFA/s400/owl1+copy.jpg" /><br /><p>The background of the card is a textured piece of scrappaper that I glittered around the edges. The owl is sitting on a branch of a paper I made in a 3 day workshop on using Golden Paints in different techniques. One workshop was called Bling=Bling...and we did a lot of papers for collage so I used a small piece for the branch. The lettering was cut out on Cricut and then glitterized. the hearts are texture stickers.<br /><br />BTW thanks for all the nice comments on my first card last week!!! If anyone wants a copy of my SCAL2 cut file I would be happy to email it to you. I have appreciated all the Freebies I have collected by visiting all the various sites. They all help me understand the different features and techniques of both the cricut and the software since I am limited with only owning two cards. My little collection is growing and growing thanks to all the wonderful sharing of talents.</p></div>Ann Morrellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07240901842891098790noreply@blogger.com13tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19419979.post-15952912497548961282011-01-09T22:05:00.004-06:002011-01-10T17:37:22.995-06:00My Snow CardI received a Cricut and a Cuddlebug for Christmas. i wanted to use them in my fiber arts and my journaling adventures. I have never been into scrapbooking even though I take a lot of pictures. I don't have the money to spent on Cricut cartridges (some are almost $90 a pop) so I decided that I would purchase a software program that allowed me to make my own cut files and create fonts that are already installed on my computer.<br /><br /><div>Short Story...the card making is rather fun. It really allows you to make a personal statement and use your creativity. As I was searching the web for ideas I came across the following site, Cooking with Cricut Com ( <a href="http://cookingwithcricut.blogspot.com/2011/01/1st-challenge-of-2011-new-dt.html">http://cookingwithcricut.blogspot.com/2011/01/1st-challenge-of-2011-new-dt.html</a> )</div><br /><div>They were having a challenge...make a card that had to deal with Snow. I live in Florida...we don't have snow...we do have cold weather, but snow ....no way. I only have two cartridges, the George and one called Splish Splash...neither one relates to Snow. So I had to use my software to get my card design.</div><br /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 312px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5560705109165920290" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqoGq-aLAxROuffc1Ve6e07XfklnjSbQrCs-dMYuRWV68DE5OGtmMLpNp9kd87eJjSbaOYLCoD5FM99Gw2Xs2k08NjCPyCuWK3Qcbdfhjnpt1i_Uc1bUPW_icZqY7E8eHQyBMZDg/s400/mycard.jpg" /><br /><div></div><div>The blue cardstock on my card was run through my Cuddlebug and embossed with swirls. My snowman was originally a piece of public domain clipart. I took it into the software, broke it down into parts, and then turned it into a cut file. I used black cardstock, orange cardstock and white cardstock for the snowman. The large snow flakes were also clipart which I resized and then cut with the Cricut from silver metallic cardstock. The eyes, mouth and buttons were added on with a black marker. The snow is white acrylic paint and of course there is glitter, a card without glitter would be a very sad card indeed. My grandkids always look forward to Snow Days because it means no school...so my card is called Snow Day. I had lots of fun making it and enjoyed the whole process. I was pleased with the way it turned out.</div><br /><br /><div></div>Ann Morrellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07240901842891098790noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19419979.post-27239061046316040922010-09-14T17:43:00.001-05:002010-09-14T17:46:29.575-05:00....so lazyHave been busy...but very lazy. I just hope that those receiving the ribbons enjoy them. I put a little bit of me into each one.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>I am now mentally designing another piece...I came across the following words:</div><br /><div></div><br /><div align="center"><strong><em>Excellent Women- want to know one- want to raise one- want to be one</em></strong></div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Since I had two wonderful grandmothers in my life, had an amazing Mom, a fantastic daughter and two unbelievable grand daughters..I see an art quilt in the making. I am mulling it over in my head .</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Right now, my focus is in cleaning up, "and out" my sewing room. It seems to be growing smaller every day...but it really ism't, it is the stuff that I am bring into it that is making it smaller and smaller...recycled clothing, odds and ends, scraps I can't throw away, paint, beads, brushes, etc. The problem with my "get rid of it stuff" is finding a person who really wants it, because it is much too valuable to throw away or just give to anyone. I need to find the right people who will get excited about a box of buttons, or a bag of bottle caps, or a laundry basket with scraps less than 5 inches in size. My youngest grand daughter once said, "Grammy you don't need a garbage can in here cause you don't throw away anything."</div>Ann Morrellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07240901842891098790noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19419979.post-57839887510682678742010-04-22T09:12:00.014-05:002010-04-22T09:55:39.860-05:00Ribbons are Done!!!!!!The ArtsQuest Ribbons are complete...all 26 of them. The last straw was to change the name of our state park that surrounds our beach community that we share our name with. I am happy to report that we won all battles. I spoke to government officials, wrote letters and made numerous telephone calls. I am a late blooming radical Granny.<br /><br />I have been busy this last month making the award ribbons for our big art show that will take place during Mother's Day week-end. It is called Arts Quest. They wanted Fiber Art Ribbons so I agreed to make them. It has been a bigger project than I had expected as I had to make 26 ribbons with <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">rosettes</span>. I only have 2 more to go. I am getting paid so am planning to use my $$$ on a new Ipad. I love gadgets. Will be able to post photos of my ribbons after the Show.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.culturalartsassociation.com/artsquest">http://www.culturalartsassociation.com/artsquest</a>Ann Morrellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07240901842891098790noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19419979.post-73645933981626987352010-03-07T17:53:00.006-06:002010-03-07T18:19:59.203-06:00MY NEW KITCHEN<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhW5NVHWvvksOJyJBLy0tkFjZ94tiumevtSDK1-w6ByIKnUCZ4geJArUpjAeOHI4Va79WZ39of8AifR_bwc5f-Ay_PyWgiw0wDIURuNih3Atb-jwHUWSEVnJlkAVRoWqjOncPcnQ/s1600-h/photo3.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 302px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5446049576234523698" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhW5NVHWvvksOJyJBLy0tkFjZ94tiumevtSDK1-w6ByIKnUCZ4geJArUpjAeOHI4Va79WZ39of8AifR_bwc5f-Ay_PyWgiw0wDIURuNih3Atb-jwHUWSEVnJlkAVRoWqjOncPcnQ/s400/photo3.jpg" /></a> I haven't blogged because the kitchen remodel became so stressful that I really had nothing "pleasant" to say. It was like one problem after another. The tile on the counters was removed without problems other than a lot of mess, dust, and folks going in and out carrying cans of broken tile counter. The backsplash was a whole different matter...it came off in small chunks which were also attached to big chunks of wall. When done...I could see the area in between the studs...It was very depressing. We then had to have new drywall installed...then we were ready for the glass tile. It seemed to be going nicely...note the words "it seemed". The glass tiles that I chose because of the odd sizes do not like to go around corners. I was <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_u44Jtq8tEVipF0BLA9ZWXuWkYaRbmzVOVkSxCd9AYpE_DZguDh5AqWeK8wJq36WqoyNBCOaUbaPpWPInt2EdP7ctABatXZMrA4rij68btpoDEGP9v8ZKE4r8V0vZqQewsQHNWA/s1600-h/photo2.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 302px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5446049341698106738" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_u44Jtq8tEVipF0BLA9ZWXuWkYaRbmzVOVkSxCd9AYpE_DZguDh5AqWeK8wJq36WqoyNBCOaUbaPpWPInt2EdP7ctABatXZMrA4rij68btpoDEGP9v8ZKE4r8V0vZqQewsQHNWA/s400/photo2.jpg" /></a>only told this when the first corner came up. The poor tile man...said the tile consulant should have mentioned that...I called her and was told she didn't say anything because she thought I should know that. I asked her to pull out my kitchen drawings and look at it and tell me if she noticed anything...yes she did, there were three corners...she still tried to throw the problem in my corner...I then lost it and asked what the word consulant mean...did it have anything to do with the word advice?<br /><div><div><div>Anyway after much debate she agreed that this tile would be a "problem" to install around a corner but it could be done. She talked with the tile guy, and all he did was nod. I think she told him not to say anything outloud because she knew I was listening. The poor guy had to piece little pieces of tile one at a time around the corners...sometimes a small 1 inch tile had to be cut, it took him 15 extra hours of work time to do the corners. The tile company paid for the extra tiles and his time. The job is not perfect...but it doesn't look imperfect...all in all it turned out great. I felt sorry for my tile guy, because this job backed him up on another job...and he even had to pass on another job.</div><br /><div>So here is a warning...same size glass tiles are great for going around corners...odd size glass tiles do not like corners .</div><br /><div>The job is over and I LOVE MY NEW KITCHEN!!!!!!</div><div> </div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5lGFM2zCObfVJ6Ilk6iwKjH9fCWr1HkFz0g40FGx6jV3dHjVawBc8gGqUbV-vk_1Ev5DXkECxl6xSRoCn4IosMViRSenS3L5PZ-w14qdbKHbmknjACjiW_qR_F_xd7_6xPSGfTQ/s1600-h/photo1.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 302px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5446049140982735938" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5lGFM2zCObfVJ6Ilk6iwKjH9fCWr1HkFz0g40FGx6jV3dHjVawBc8gGqUbV-vk_1Ev5DXkECxl6xSRoCn4IosMViRSenS3L5PZ-w14qdbKHbmknjACjiW_qR_F_xd7_6xPSGfTQ/s400/photo1.jpg" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div></div><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div></div>Ann Morrellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07240901842891098790noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19419979.post-72440542139616659712010-01-22T17:28:00.002-06:002010-01-22T17:44:33.859-06:00The Counters are COM-ingThe counter guys arrive Wednesday to start removing the tile and the old counter tops. We will be without a sink for a few days starting Wednesday. My new appliances are in the house. Stove is in middle of floor...plugged in. Told the hubby that it can't work real well since it is in middle of floor so we need to eat out at least once a day. I think he knows I'm full of it"...but he did take me out to eat today.<br /><br />Once counters are removed...template guy comes in and makes the template pattern...then the quartz is cut...while that is being done...Backsplash tile guy comes in and removes the backsplash...which is stuck on the wall and then will put up new board and then tile....The counter folks return and install counters..Tile man returns and starts tiling backsplash...with those "million dollar" glass tiles I picked out. Of course the tiles I chose cost an arm and leg per square foot, and tile man said they are labor intense to install...so am spending a small fortune on just little chunks of tiles. But hopefully it will be worth it.<br /><br />As far as my new appliances go...they each came with a manual about a 1/2 inch thick. The only manual I didn't have to study was the refrig. The stove wakes up when touched and then goes back to sleep if not used. I think my hubby just enjoys watching it come alive as he touches it everytime he passes it. I shouldn't talk I sat in front of my new front loading washer the first time I used it and watched it like it was a soap opera...my old fashion washer clunker seems medieval now.<br /><br />It will be great to get a really new kitchen....will post photos later.Ann Morrellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07240901842891098790noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19419979.post-80189364776900275702010-01-17T12:11:00.002-06:002010-01-17T12:15:59.658-06:00Umbrella Man CompleteThe Umbrella Man with the very small head is complete. I did take a few liberties with the original watercolor. I changed the colors and also the position of the umbrella. I got both the child's permission and his parents to use his piece of artwork and have begun to work on it. The original piece was about 8.5 X 11. I love it.<br /><br /><div></div><div>I have now purchased a Kindle. I use to read a lot but as I aged my eyes aged also. I wear cheaters...different focuses for different things that I do. Trying to read was very tiring...I sometimes got headaches. When I read ....I read...I like to devour the book...it is hard to put it down ...and over the years my reading had just stopped. I still read the Quilting Arts magazines and all those technique books that are out there but my reading for just the joy of reading had been put on the back burner of my "reading stove.".</div><br /><br /><div></div><div>Now that I have my Kindle...I can change the size of the text....so as my eyes become tired the text can go larger. I love the size of my kindle (have the small one) and also the easy to get the book to my Kindle just by clicking...did you know that there are thousands of free Kindle books out there... but what was a pleasant surprise...my Iphone has an app too for Kindle...my two "toys" can share my reading material and they talk back and forth...so I am always on the same page.</div><br /><div>My first book choice to read was A Bold Fresh Piece of Humanity....as I have aways thought that those words not only described Mr. O'Reilly but they also described me too.</div>Ann Morrellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07240901842891098790noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19419979.post-90541575008917912372009-12-01T11:29:00.002-06:002009-12-01T11:31:20.040-06:00Second Sample for My Class is Done<div>See previous post about my class.</div><br /><div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 311px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5410321574332876898" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTMDdj0MT4YjGI45ierjgju2fZxC4znkijQKBrd_giKhLQi23Ppw0YHZiY9TNfMurhZjlbQs1DNJRFBhAQAi4bIn1WVLizIZcadwAy_28YktN9gTa5UiydvY7ZzSOKZNN-MxTceQ/s320/crabfish.jpg" /></div>Ann Morrellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07240901842891098790noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19419979.post-13048555499570792712009-12-01T11:18:00.005-06:002009-12-01T11:25:54.419-06:00My Doll Update<div><div><div>Perhaps I am not going to master doll making in this life time...but i sure did have a lot of fun trying. Well I am not a doll maker... but I do love funky looking women...have done a lot of art quilts with funky unique women featured so I just had to try and make this doll. The pieces are long and skinny and very hard to turn. She lost her thumbs in the turning process. If I thought turning the pieces inside out was hard...stuffing them was even harder...and then trying to slip stitch up the holes and still keep the stuffing in was another unique experience. After stuffing you paint her. The paint soaks into your fabric...and it takes for ever to dry. But the finished pieces are wonderful...I see so many different characters. I see adjusting the pattern for different shaped women. There are so many possibilities.</div><div><br /></div><div>Here is my first effort...still needs a face, her clothing, and her body connected:</div><div><br /></div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 280px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5402532512533601618" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcOaKy08lbqazeRuyB-U-TPbInTbwHQDTeDTpB11FvEvhZuAmUPC0qv-BhB72wJuIMvc1Bjmb5-MXSzU1QbH-znIaxajCkFyxTgdHGrkpOtcrFUptpxdBLOU0MljNAn9wXIb8gDQ/s400/doll.jpg" /> My suggestions for the future:<br />* I would replace the side opening for turning on arms and legs to the top area where they are connected....those side openings are really tough to slipstitch closed and keep the stuffing from hanging out.<br />* I would paint with gesso before adding a paint cover...less soaking in of paint. (I am also thinking why not use the fabric the color you want the doll in the first place?)<br /><br />She is a real cutie...so I recommend if you get the issue try it...you may become hooked.<br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div>Ann Morrellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07240901842891098790noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19419979.post-53868528638739694582009-11-09T18:02:00.004-06:002009-11-09T18:18:39.206-06:00the curse has been broken<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdVcOUgI3V5XPdgRSubGPfUEWfcgPa0fIV-UsxUiEGkSf2pA2Cc8jpof7G18_MVv0iFBWnkuBSI47wTjv_vWSnSQChi8JRN2zGJgYxIPTvnourylOwNXik7Mp1to1oVnV2hmhfKw/s1600-h/YGP8EC1.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 381px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5402262092990880930" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdVcOUgI3V5XPdgRSubGPfUEWfcgPa0fIV-UsxUiEGkSf2pA2Cc8jpof7G18_MVv0iFBWnkuBSI47wTjv_vWSnSQChi8JRN2zGJgYxIPTvnourylOwNXik7Mp1to1oVnV2hmhfKw/s400/YGP8EC1.jpg" /></a><br /><div>The curse has been broken...the sewing room is now OPEN and messy again. I am doing a 12 by 12 art quilt class in February for our local Cultural Art Association. I have to have samples of what I hope to teach. I came up with a choice of sea creatures that they could use and have finished up one sample. I had to keep in mind that my students aren't art quilters, they don't do free motion stitching and they probably don't have a stash of fabrics to choose from. I am going to take my bags of GoodWill Clothing in as fabric choices for them to use. All they will need is a blue piece of background fabric. Now on to sample two. It is good to be back in the creative mood.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div></div><br /><div></div><br /><div></div><br /><div></div><br /><div></div>Ann Morrellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07240901842891098790noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19419979.post-55828319461878399712009-10-19T07:59:00.003-05:002009-10-19T08:09:36.877-05:00Creative SlumpHave been in a creative slump...haven't even sat in my sewing room, in fact the last time I went in there was over a month ago when looking for a pair scissors. I have lots of ideas scribbled down, have pages dog earred in my Quilting Arts magazines with techniques I want to try...just missing the desire, the want. I look around the house and think...I need to clean, I need to go through closets, I need to do this or do that. I want to redo my kitchen...but dread the mess, the spending of money...so what do I do...I sit and think of all the things I want to do. I don't think its a depression thing, its more like a lazy thing. I am hoping that soon something will light a fire under me and get me started...a force is definitely needed...am hoping it occurs soon. I think that if I can get started again, I will feel better physically...you know a body moving is so much better than a body just sitting...It has always been in the past that if I put something down in the blog it helps me to create. Let's hope that still works.Ann Morrellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07240901842891098790noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19419979.post-8973089750216223652009-08-04T23:19:00.002-05:002009-08-04T23:20:34.757-05:00WOW...didn't know a body could do thisThis was shared with me.
