Breast Cancer Strikes Again

My friend Sandy, who comes down to Sanddestin every year has just been stricken with this disease. She has always been so healthy and now she is facing chemo and surgery. She has a very positive outlook on life...always has and she seems to be looking at this as just another bump in the road that will delay her trip South just for a short time. I decided that I would make her a fabric postcard once a week until she is back on the road to good health and back down here in Sanddestin acting like a proper SnowBird should be acting. This is card number three for her.

The card is hand painted fabric and the mermaid was handpainted and then appliqued on , the face was poured Utee and then stamped with a face stamp. The picture really doesn't do the face justice. She is not as scarey as she looks.

Here is a close up of the Utee face that was stamped...I made it very flat so that it could be glued onto the card.

This is the back of the card . Since it has the Utee face is will be mailed in a padded envelope.

As you go through your day please stop and think a good thought for all of the women out there that are dealing with breast cancer, surely with time and the right research we will be able to conquor this disease. I am truly hoping that a cure will happen in my lifetime so that my grand daughters and daughter will never have to deal with this desease.

What a lovely idea and how thoughtful of you to send your friend a weekly PC. It's like getting a hug in the mail regularly. Love the card!

Sending positive vibes to your friend. Treatment is improving year by year, many of us are beating this horrible disease
lets hope one day it will be eradicated.

I'm sure that your friend will love these. My mom was diagnosed last month and is positive as well. I think it's an attitude that will serve both of them well while dealing with this. Good luck to her!
