BEAD SHOW IN HAVANA

Heading out to the Havana Bead Festival with my friend Pam today.

http://www.havanaextrav.com/

This will be my first bead show...have been in a few bead shops but never to a week end show devoted to Beads...Beads....Beads!

UPDATE UPDATE

Back from the Bead Show with my purchases. Was careful only to purchase unique beads as I have a case full of colored seed beads and glass beads. These beads are good candidates for making molds and using some UTEE.

Joined a Monthly Challenge

I joined a monthly challenge group where they give you a challenge on a Friday and you have a week to complete the challenge. There are guidelines that you need to follow. You participate in a challenge every month.
This month our challenge was:
Create a quilt representing your house or another house or building that made an impression on you. The house may be the house of your dreams (or nightmares). Your quilt may be realistic or abstract. Design Concept - DEPTH.
I took two photos, one of an older home in my Grayton Beach neighborhood and the other a photo of our beautiful beach. This older home located among million dollar homes, represents what Grayton use to be. I believe that if walls could talk this home could provide several novels of material. I always thought that this home should be located on a dune overlooking the Gulf. So I decided with a litttle technology help I would pick that house up and move it to a perfect location.
Here are the two photos:

After merging the two photos into one...then I used my digital painting program to change the merged photo into a painting. Printed my new image on fabric and then used thread painting, and my watercolor crayons and also my Embellisher machine and came up with my finished challenge piece.
