THE GREAT MOREL


What is this you might ask?

No it isn't me... my last name is
MORRELL

It is a GREAT MOREL mushroom. It is said to be the Prince of mushrooms. (Personally I think King or Queen might be a better title.) It is one of the best tasting mushrooms in the world. This week end I got to taste them. Had a friend and his wife drop by our house on their way home to Florida and he treated me to some. He actually hunts them in the woods in Ohio. They were delicious. If you ever have the chance to try one do so.
Here is a little history on them:



Here is how he fixed them:

(Morels with Flour)

You need:
Morels (bunches of 'em)(Morels with Flour)

You need:
Butter (3-4 tbsp's)
Frying Pan
Flour (1/2 cup or so)
Salt/Pepper to taste.

Directions:
Melt butter in frying pan (don't overheat it!!!!!)

Coat Morels in flour (either in gallon ziplock
bag that has flour in it or using a plate covered in flour)
--coat the cleaned morels well with flour.

Sautee mushrooms (gently) in butter/margarine.

Salt and pepper to taste.

Eat.
