Black Garbage Bag Treasures

The other day while walking through a store called Old Time Pottery a young man came up to my friend Pam and I and asked if we wanted some free silk flowers that they were removing from the shelves. Of course we said YES. He then proceeded to give us two gigantic black garbage bag to fill up with our choices. Twenty five minutes later we left the store dragging our bags of loot. After arriving home I pulled out some of my "flower stash" and started tearing them apart so that they can be sewed onto postcards and wall hangings. I now have a rubbermaid tub full of leaves and flower petals and a black garbage bag full of untouched silk flowers for future projects. What's so strange about this event, is this was my first visit to this store, and we only went into the store to pass a little time. We just happened to be in the right place at the right time. We are just two lucky Florida Girls!!!!

Of course Rufus, my cat, thinks these flowers were just for him.

ONE INCH CHARMS

First it was fabric postcards and now it is 1 inch charms...have joined 3 charm swaps. These charms are for me as they turned out that after sealing edges in Utee I was unable to insert eyelets. And even if I inserted an eyelet before sealing the edges ...it was very difficult to insert a jump ring due to the added thickness of the edge. At first was disappointed because I wouldn't be able to use them in any of my swaps...but then in looking at them...I knew I would be able to use them on art quilts are even on postcards...so all was not lost. In fact I think I liked them better without eyelets.
