My Daughter Turned 40

A place where one old woman shares her daily ups and downs and her attempts at art with strangers and friends out in Internet land.
Am enrolled in my second online class with Pamela Allen. I learn so much about design and use of fabrics from her classes. If you ever get a chance to take a class either in "real life" or online...I would highly recomend it. This class is on Still Life. We are just beginning lesson three. I thought I would post both lesson 1 and lesson 2 images that I did...they are only pinned and glued in place...stitching will happen after the class. First Lesson black and white only. Lesson 2 Muted colors, plaids, stripes, and using fabric images to detail piece.
On January 24th our Women on the Fringe Group did a Fiber Postcard and ATC Workshop for our local Cultural Art Association. We had 18 students that participated. We had so much fun sharing many of our favorite techniques with them and we hope that they had fun too. Here is a Powerpoint Presentation that shares our day creating. Enjoy.
She is done except for putting the highlights in her eyes...need to hang her up and look at her eyes for awhile to see where the best place is to put them in. Also need to find the buttons I purchased over a month ago for the seahorse and fish eyes...I think I have hidden them from myself. Something I seem to do quite often. I really had fun making her and "listening to her" as she whispered her wants to me. I really learned a lot about beading, made many mistakes but also learned a lot too.
